By Micah Halpern
Wednesday December 11, 2019 I've Been Thinking: It looks official. Iran’s President Rouhani will visit Japan on December 19th where he will have talks with his Japanese counterpart, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. These are important talks. Japan is a perfect country for Iran to use as a conduit to the West. They are a world force and yet small. They are pro US, but are Asian and their interests are in keeping Asia safe. Iran trusts Japan. And at the same time Abe has a direct line in to the White House. The meeting is an opportunity for Abe and Rouhani to speak frankly. Very seldom is there a situation in which we can witness the behavior and eavesdrop on the conversation of Iran. The Iranians are, typically, either extremely defensive or simply creating a veneer. This meeting may give us insight into the method and madness of the Iranian thought process. Read my latest book THUGS. It's easy. Just click.
