By Micah Halpern
Sunday April 26, 2020 I've Been Thinking: Sometime between Friday night and Saturday night terrorists attacked Israel’s water system. The attack came in the form of a cyberattack and it focused on chlorine and pumping departments. According to an internal memo between the head of Israel’s water department and the head of Israel’s cyber security, the attack was repelled and Israel successfully defended itself. No damage was done. The memo ordered everyone to change their passwords - especially those in the chlorine control department. If that was not possible, they were instructed to remove themselves and to take their system offline immediately. This attack was sophisticated. It penetrated deep into the system. It leads me to infer that the attack came from one of three sources: either Iran, Russia or China. Penetrating Israel’s security requires a great deal of computer and hacking power. This was not a high schooler having a good time or winning a bet. Read my latest book THUGS. It's easy. Just click.
