By Micah Halpern
Tuesday October 27, 2020 I've Been Thinking: Yair Lapid, the head of the opposition in Israel’s Knesset and the leader of the Yesh Atid party, has said that if a budget is not passed by next week he will propose a vote of No Confidence in the Knesset. Lapid is convinced that the vote will pass and the Netanyahu government will fall. If successful - and there is a very high probability that the vote of No Confidence will, indeed, succeed Israel will go to new elections once again. What it really means is that Israel has lost confidence in Netanyahu. Israelis have also lost confidence in Blue and White. If there is another election, I predict a very different mosaic in terms of the parties that will be forming a government. The moderates have disbanded. There will be a rise of the right. That means Naftali Bennett and Ayelet Shaked will emerge as king makers, not Avigdor Lieberman who held that role in the past few elections. It will mean the near dissolution of Blue and White as well as Lieberman’s party. Let’s see what happens next week. Read my latest book THUGS. It's easy. Just click.
