« Bennett Warns Hamas | Main | Bitcoins in Iran » Iran's Nuke Plant
By Micah Halpern
Sunday June 20, 2021 Iran’s only nuclear power plant broke down and went offline. The plant will be closed until it can be fixed. It needs part from overseas. But because of international sanctions, parts are hard for Iran to procure. The plant, which opened in 2011 is in Bushehr. One of its jobs is to help reduce the cost of electricity across the country. As a result of the Bushehr plant going down, an electricity shortage will most certainly occur throughout Iran. The plant is actually very old. Iran started building it in the 1970’s under the Shah. The Russians are still helping out. This plant is uranium powered and Iran gets their enriched uranium from – you guessed it, Russia.
