By Micah Halpern
Tuesday June 22, 2021 A Russian naval ship shot at a British naval ship in the Black Sea. The Russians also scrambled a jet and launched several bombs toward the British ship. The boat, called the HMS Defender, is a destroyer ship. Russia explained their action by saying that The Defender crossed into Russian waters. The British deny the claim. The Russians countered saying that the British ship was as far as 2 miles into Russian waters. Britain went so far as to deny everything - even that Russia shot at them. According to the UK Ministry of Defense: “No warning shots have been fired at HMS Defender. The Royal Navy ship is conducting innocent passage through Ukrainian territorial waters in accordance with international law.” As usual, the Russians are flexing their muscles.
