Washington issued a series of public and private threats to Beijing, suggesting that if China helps Russia and supports the invasion of Ukraine, there will be a heavy price to pay.

The United States literally said that China will face serious consequences if it supports Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

In addition to a phone call between the leaders of the United States and China, a seven-hour meeting took place in Rome Between Jake Sullivan, President Joe Biden’s nations security adviser, and his Chinese counterpart Yang Jiechi.

We have been told that the meeting was tense as the United States passed their message on to China very clearly.

The Biden Administration is trying to insure that China does not help Russia end around Western sanctions or, more importantly, supply weapons to the Russians as casualties mount in Ukraine.

It is a difficult diplomatic needle to thread.

The Biden administration is taking a big gamble with China and Russia.
