Israel Convicts People Whose celebrate Murder
By Micah Halpern
Seven Israelis were convicted of celebrating the brutal murder a Palestinian toddler and his parents.
They were members of the Dawabsheh family and they were murdered in 2015 during an act of arson.
The Jerusalem Magistrates Court found the men guilty of “glorifying murder with song and dance”. The dance and song took place at a wedding.
There is an issue of freedom of expression. But this behavior was not appropriate and it was beneath the threshold of acceptability.
The court was correct. There is no first amendment right in Israel. It is not as all-encompassing as it is in the United States.
Shame on those seven Israelis.
