![]() « Saudis Don't Fly US Flag | Main | Egypt Meets Iran » Iran Hacks Israel
By Micah Halpern
Iran successfully attacked both Jerusalem and Eilat with a cyber strike that caused real alarms, as well as metaphorical alarms, to sound. Yoram Cohen, who heads Israel's internet association, said that while the hack did not appear to harm any vital infrastructure, it revealed, once again, how vulnerable civilian systems are to attack. Cohen said: "There is a gap between Israel's excellent cyber defenses on critical infrastructure compared to non-critical civilian systems." "This was not the first cyberattack to demonstrate the gap and there must be increased awareness of the fact in order to protect Israel's networks." Iran will continue to try to attack soft and weak Israeli targets. It is a big emotional victory for Iranian leadership as they think that Israel is vulnerable. For that reason alone, these soft targets must be hardened. Read my latest book THUGS. It's easy. Just click.
