By Micah Halpern
The opening of diplomatic relations between Israel and the Arab world is many-faceted. Exchanges of security, military material and intelligence is a key benefit of these new relationships. Technology is another. Trade and tourism benefits both sides. As part of an official trip to Morocco, IDF Chief of Staff Major General Aviv Kochavi visited the "Ben Grier" Moroccan airbase. There, Kochavi met with the commander, Colonel Major Hassan Mahuar. The military leaders spoke about cooperation between their country’s air forces. During his visit Kochavi also met with members of the Moroccan Jewish community. Addressing the crowd in the synagogue he said: "Morocco is an ally to Israel and is an example to deep connections between peoples based on a common heritage." This bodes well for Israel and for Morocco. It is a very good sign for the future of Israel’s relationship with the Arab world. Read my latest book THUGS. It's easy. Just click.
