In another incident of an attempt to enter Israel, IDF forces arrested two Lebanese suspects who illegally crossed into Israel via the Israel/Lebanon border. The two were taken for questioning. The IDF reported that it will “continue to act in order to prevent any attempt to illegally cross the border and harm Israel’s sovereignty”. Most cross-border incidents form Lebanon into Israel involve smuggling. Most of the contraband that is smuggled is drug related. It involves criminal elements on both sides of the border. The real security risk is that the smugglers are often paying off and bribing people on the ground. Terrorists and drug smugglers alike will use any method they can to ply their nefarious trades.
