Adderall Shortage
By Micah Halpern

Friday October 7, 2022
I've Been Thinking:

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced that there is a shortage of the medication Adderall.

Adderall is used as a treatment for ADHD, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. The shortage is due to intermittent manufacturing delays at Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd worldwide.

U.S. listed shares of Teva were down as a result of the news.

Adderall is an FDA-approved prescription drug.  It is used by 5%-10% of all youth in the United States and many athletes use it for a competitive edge.  Many students use it to help them take tests and sharpen their attention.

This is a serious supply chain crisis.
