Saturday September 22, 2007 I've Been Thinking: The Syrian opposition is an umbrella group called the National Salvation Front. At the end of a conference in Berlin the group issued a statement expressing their dissatisfaction with the ruling regime. They said: "We have a plan of action that will bring the Syrian people to a state of 'civil rebellion,' that will bring about a change of leadership in a democratic and non-violent way." That is very admirable. It is also very unrealistic. Simply put ... change does not happen in that part of the world peacefully. Read my new book THUGS. It's easy.
