« Bhutto Assassination | Main | The Real Bhutto » US Overplayed Pakistan
By Micah Halpern
Friday December 28, 2007 I've Been Thinking: The United States bears indirect culpability for what is happening in Pakistan. The United States insisted that Bhutto return to Pakistan despite the threats against her life, threats that were serious from the outset. Certainly, Bhutto was popular, but there was also a very vehement anti-Bhutto faction in Pakistan and that group included terrorists who rejected her for nothing more than the fact that Bhutto was a woman. Others hated her because she was modern, egalitarian, pro-Western and Oxford and Harvard educated. Bhutto knew the risks, she was fearless, she became a martyr for the cause of democracy. Pakistan will recover from this turmoil. Read my new book THUGS. It's easy. Just click. 4 June 2017 12:14 PM in Thoughts
