Friday January 8, 2010 I've Been Thinking: The obvious is often stated as if it has some deep profound impact. Case in point: Yesterday Admiral Mike Mullen, Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, announced that an attack on Iran may lead to unintended consequences that may destabilize the region. His comments were clear and left little room for interpretation: ... "I think that the outcome is potentially a very, very destabilizing outcome ... on the other hand, when asked about striking Iran, specifically, that also has a very, very destabilizing outcome." The US has made a very important strategic move. There is no doubt that Israeli is developing plans to strike Iran. The United States is telling Iran to come back to the negotiating table.
