« Hamas: Protests Good for Palestinians | Main | Chirstian Murdered in Egypt » UK Upgrade PA Diplomatic Status
By Micah Halpern
Tuesday March 8, 2011 I've Been Thinking: The United Kingdom is upgrading diplomatic relations with the Palestinian Authority. England will upgrade their status from "delegation" to "mission." That means that the PA will be permitted to fly their flag outside their mission. The big issue, however, is not the benefits that the PA will get, but that the British have not gotten anything in return for the upgrade. The PA has not changed their stance at all about the peace process. They have not even agreed to sit down and resume direct talks with the Israelis. At a minimum, England should have demanded that the PA come back to the negotiation table with realistic requests and expectations. Read my new book THUGS. It's easy.
