By Micah Halpern
Tuesday August 16, 2011 I've Been Thinking: Yesterday Jordanian Prime Minister Marouf al-Bakhit called on Syria to stop killing civilians. Jordan has gone on the record saying that reforms and more liberal policies must be implemented in Syria and that the time has come to reshape the powers that govern Syria. The Jordanian news service Petra reported all this yesterday. The prime minister is quoted as saying: "There is a need to stop violence immediately, start implementing reforms and resort to dialogue." On Sunday The King of Jordan also called a press conference and announced a set of proposed changes that would empower his own parliament. The reforms would give the parliament some of the powers that had been under the control of and reserved for the King So Jordan calls on Syria to change and reform and Jordan slowly initiates her own changes and reforms. Jordan is, in a matter of speaking, putting her money where her mouth is. Read my new book THUGS. It's easy. Just click.
