Saturday July 21, 2012 I've Been Thinking: Omar Suleiman died this week at the age of 75. He was a soldier his entire life. Suleiman served as Intelligence Chief of Egypt. He was the chief spy and one of the most trusted and most important people in the inner group of Hosni Mubarak. Suleiman was Mubarak's right hand man and in the end, he actually served as vice president in a move intended to placate the masses during the riots that ousted Mubarak. Suleiman even threw his hat into the race for president after Mubarak was ousted. He was disqualified because he did not gather the proper number of signatures and because he was affiliated with the previous government. Suleiman was the mediator between Israel and the Palestinians and between Palestinians and Palestinians. He was known to be straightforward and fair. Omar Suleiman died in Cleveland, he will be buried in Egypt. Read my new book THUGS. It's easy. Just click.
