Wednesday December 26, 2012 I've Been Thinking: Guess what? Iran has just announced that they will conduct another set of maneuvers in the Straits of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf over the weekend. The commander of the Iranian navy made the announcement yesterday. The announcement asserts that the exercises are purely defensive. The commander of the Iranian navy is correct in that the real objective of the maneuvers two fold. First, it is all a show, a grand, show. For internal consumption it will show the Iranians that they are a formidable force. And it will show the rest of the world, all of which will be watching, that Iran is not a push over. The second and more important objective of these exercises is training. The Iranian navy is in need of training and rehearsal. The Iranians know how to work a public relations angle, they know how to spin a story. Read my new book THUGS. It's easy. Just click.
