By Micah Halpern
Monday June 3, 2013 I've Been Thinking: Throngs of people have taken to the streets in Turkey's largest cities to show their displeasure with Recep Tayyip Erdogan. They call him a dictator. The internet, the blogosphere and twitter are filled with attacks against the leader of Turkey. In response, thousands of Turks have been arrested. While this is happening, Syria has announced a travel warning about Turkey. Beware and be careful when traveling to Turkey, they say. Look who's calling the kettle black. But it's working. Just yesterday, Sunday, on the second day of the riots, 7000 Syrians crossed back into Syria from Turkey. And last week at least 20,000 Syrians returned to Syrian from Iraq. It sounds strange, but Syrians are finding safety in their own war torn country. The irony of that situation should not be lost. Read my new book THUGS. It's easy. Just click.
