Monday December 12, 2016 I've Been Thinking: The pendulum is swinging back again and this time Palmyra is squarely in the hands of ISIS. The battle for Palmyra began in March of 2015 and then, in May of 2016, Russia took charge. Russia withdrew in early December and ISIS has taken over total control of Palmyra and the entire region. Now Russia is bombing Palmyra in an attempt to take back the city and the province. Many people have been killed on both sides. As a result of the bombing ISIS fled the center of the city. Now, the bombing has stopped, and reporting on all sides says that over the past few hours ISIS has returned and once again established control of the city Palmyra. Read my latest book THUGS.
