« A SMEAR CAMPAIGN GONE AWRY | Main | UN Human Rights Council » Conflict Emerges in the Arab World
By Micah Halpern
Friday June 6, 2008 I've Been Thinking: There is real conflict emerging in the Arab world. One end of the spectrum: Yesterday Abdullah and Saudi Arabia opened the Mecca Conference, a gathering of 500 Muslims from 50 countries. In his opening remarks King Abdullah said: "You have gathered today to tell the whole world that ... we are a voice of justice and values and humanity, that we are a voice of coexistence and a just and rational dialogue." The other end of the spectrum: The only way to stem the tide of Islamic Extremism is through the involvement of the Arab leadership - there is no doubt about that. Read my new book THUGS. It's easy.
