Friday July 1, 2016 I've Been Thinking: Reuters has released a sneak preview of an interview with Syrian leader Bashar Assad scheduled to be broadcast on Friday on Australia's SBS news channel. The quotes are very damning -- damning of Western countries. Assad is quoted as saying that Western countries condemn his government politically but then send security advisers to help fight ISIS and al Qaeda. He also gave a big dig to the United States saying that Western countries simply mimic what the US wants them to say. One of the important revelations in this interview is that Assad tells the Australian media that their country, Australia, is among those countries who show their duplicity. "They attack us politically and then they send officials to deal with us under the table, especially the security, including your (the Australian) government."
