Wednesday March 13, 2019 I've Been Thinking: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani recently visited Iraq. The purpose of the trip was to sign a series of agreements that mutually benefit both countries. One of the agreements deals with building a train that will link the two countries. Iraq made the agreements and the meeting public. To make this relationship work, Iran needs to push aside decades of tensions with Iraq. If that happens, Iraq can help Iran ease the pain of US sanctions. It won't be easy - Iran and Iraq have had much tension and even fought a war. And Iranian troops are in Iraq to help protect the minority Shiites who live there. But the motivation on both sides is strong. Read my latest book THUGS. It's easy. Just click. To reprint my essays contact sales (at) www.featurewell.com 14 March 2019 12:56 AM in Thoughts
