![]() Sierra Leone To OPen embassy in Jerusalem

Sierra Leone's president, Julius Maada Wonie Bio, has promised that his country will open an embassy in Jerusalem. The news came, according to Israel’s foreign ministry, in the form of a phone call with Foreign Minister Eli Cohen. This is another example of the countries accepting Israel and siding with Israel in the world of International diplomacy.

Russia's military cooperation with Iran will not succumb to geopolitical pressure, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said. His comments came following reports that Washington has asked Teheran to stop selling drones to Moscow. According to a report from RIA, a Russian State News Agency, Ryabkov said: "There are no changes, and cooperation with Iran will continue … We are independent states and do not succumb to the dictates of the United States and its satellites." And citing an Iranian official and another source the Financial Times has reported that the United States is pressing Iran to stop selling the armed drones, which Russia is using in the war in Ukraine. Russia began using the Iranian-made Shahed drones to attack deep inside Ukraine last year. The so-called kamikaze unmanned drones do not need a runway to launch and they explode on impact.

An oil leak has hit a transmission pipeline linking Iran's Kharg island to the country's mainland port of Genaveh. Iran’s semi-official Tasnim news agency reported the leak without specifying the magnitude of the spill. According to an official from Bushehr Province: "To prevent oil leakage on the seabed from the pipelines, diving teams have been dispatched." The official also said that two vessels had been sent to Kharg and Genaveh's coasts to help with the clean-up. Kharg island, located 25 kilometers off the Gulf coast of Iran, hosts an oil terminal from which a large part of the country's oil exports are shipped.
