« New Poll on A/S | Main | They Still Blame Israel » Is It A New Arab Spring
By Micah Halpern
Thursday October 31, 2019 I've Been Thinking: Given the prolonged protests in Lebanon and Iraq, there is talk about another Arab Spring. In Egypt, in Gaza, in Iran and in other countries across the Middle East there have been massive police crackdowns in response to protests and rallies against dictatorships, authoritarian leaders and monarchies. Protests of this sort can shake a society to its core. In Syria, the protests which started far away from the capital grew and spread and have now enveloped almost the entire country, including the capital city Damascus. It is those protests which resulted in the Syrian civil war responsible for the bedlam we are seeing today. The situation in the Middle East is explosive. Protests can spread as quickly as wildfire. Middle East leaders know this well. They are acting to protect their power and their positions. Read my latest book THUGS. It's easy. Just click.
