Saturday November 27, 2021 Israel’s energy minister, Karine Elharrar, is recommending cancelling the proposed oil deal between Israel and the UAE. Elharrar’s office issued an official statement that was broadcast on Israeli Army Radio. It read: "I am calling to cancel the EAPC agreement. It poses many risks to the Gulf of Eilat, to residents, and it does not benefit Israel's energy market." The proposal was to have UAE tankers, filled with oil, arrive in the Red Sea port of The plan never really considered either environmental costs or environmental dangers. Israel’s energy minister is not alone in her concerns. Even the Israeli supreme court demanded an explanation for this venture and a plan that would protect the environment.
